What we do

Mayday offers the following services for women:

Maternity care and neonates (newborn babies)

The Maternity Unit sees more than 4, 600 deliveries each year and includes a new midwife-led birth centre, which opened in 2006.

Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit provides scanning and counselling services for women in the early stages of pregnancy.

Mayday's maternity services have achieved Level 3 in the Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts (CNST) assessment - the highest level possible. The CNST assessment means that our patients can be assured we provide a high quality, safe service.

The Neonatal Unit is a level 2 unit, which offers services to both Croydon residents as well as referrals from areas as far away as Eastbourne.

The Unit forms part of the South West London Neonatal Network in providing intensive care to sick neonates, admitting over 500 babies in 2006, of which over 100 required full intensive care facilities.

The Trust has eight consultant gynaecologists. Areas of specialist expertise include female continence services; colposcopy and cancer services; IVF and laparoscopic surgery.

The Trust opened a Women's Unit in 2007 to provide fertility and colposcopy services.

The Uro-gynaecology team were named Continence Team of the Year for 2005 by Hospital Doctor magazine.
