All Mayday volunteers are part of a high profile public service and work very much as part of the Mayday Healthcare NHS team. They make a significant difference to our patients, visitors, and staff, and their assistance is greatly appreciated.
There are many volunteering opportunities across Trusts, from wards, clinics, welcomers, reception areas and offices to social groups. You might choose to spend most of your time in personal contact with patients; or perhaps you would be happier assisting with practical duties in an office.
All we ask is that applicants are able to commit at least 4 hours per week, for no less than six months of the year, and that they are over the age of sixteen.
You need to be friendly and caring, able to communicate well with patients and visitors and co-operate with staff. Other qualities required are reliability, initiative, discretion and perseverance.
In order to match the right person to the right volunteering opportunity, we would ask you to attend an open morning, informal interview and to provide two references. Health and Criminal Records clearance are also required.
If you feel that you have the qualities to help as a volunteer and would like to request an application pack please contact one of the Volunteer Services Manager. Carol O’Reilly 020 8401 3436 Monday – Friday 09.00 – 5.00 there is also an answer phone system in operation on this number.
