Training and development

Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust has a strong commitment to developing its staff and believes education, training and development are central to the Trust’s ability to provide high quality healthcare services to patients and their families.

Staff are encouraged to identify any development needs through the Knowledge and Skills Framework appraisal system and the Trust provides access to internal and external courses, conferences and study days, coaching, mentoring and formal training.

Management Training

A programme of multi-disciplinary management and leadership development is available within the Trust. This includes induction for new managers, core skills workshops and a Leadership Development Programme linked to the Trust’s Service Improvement Agenda and the NHS Leadership Qualities Framework.

Continuing Professional Development

In conjunction with the Strategic Health Authority and the Faculty of Health and Social Care Studies a programme of Continuing Professional Development is available all staff who have a professional qualification.

Lifelong learning

Mayday encourages all staff to continue to learn and develop in their jobs. Courses offered include:

Ten week courses are offered for employees to improve their English and Maths.
