If you are admitted to Mayday in an emergency our staff will do all they can to provide you with prompt, appropriate treatment and explain what is happening to you.
The most likely route for admission as an emergency is through the Accident and Emergency (A&E) department. Patients who need further asessesment or observation may be care for in the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) or the Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) if they are likely to need an operation.
People with a confirmed or suspected stroke will be admitted to the Stroke Unit on Heathfield 1 ward or cared for in one of the six dedicated stroke beds in the Medical Assessment Unit.
If someone you know has been admitted to Mayday and you are coming to visit them, please see the Before you come to hospital section of this website for more information.
