How we make decisions

The Trust has for some years published as a matter of routine a range of documents reflecting how decisions are made and recording both the decisions themselves and how they were reached, in particular:

Board meetings and papers

including agendas, supporting papers and minutes though excluding material that is properly regarded as private and confidential.

Governance

Clinical governance is a 'framework through which NHS organisations are accountable for continuously improving the quality of their service and safeguarding the high standards of care by creating an environment in which excellence in clinical care will flourish'.

The Trust has an Integrated Governance and Clinical Governance Committee, which is a sub committee of the Trust Board.  This Committee sets out and monitors the overall direction for patient safety and experience and its governance within the Trust and agrees the programme of work with the Trust Board.

Minutes of meetings, governance annual reports and update reports are regularly presented to the Trust Board and can be accessed through the Trust Board papers.

Patient and public involvement

Mayday recognises that the involvement of patients and carers will help us improve our services and make them more responsice to their needs.
